When you need to repurpose online articles as videos, try Lumen5, a free browser-based app you use on a desktop computer. Simply copy an article’s URL into Lumen5, and it converts the article into a slideshow. After the conversion, you can edit the images, text, and video transitions on each slide. In about 30 minutes, you’ll have a customized slideshow that you can export as a video.
The slideshow editor includes a powerful toolkit with effects, copyright-free music, and media. To visualize this, one effect spells out a word in Scrabble tiles. Although the background images the generator chooses are relevant, you can also change the image to suit your desired look and feel.
Lumen5 offers a free version that enables you to see how it works and create an unlimited number of videos, but the video quality is limited. The Pro version costs $49 per month, and the Business version costs $149 per month. With these paid versions, you can export high-quality videos and unlock more tools.
